Activities Program

This page contains information about the Mountain Devils bushwalking and social activities program.

You need to book in by the Friday before the activity. Leaders may place limits on the numbers attending and failure to book early can result in missing out on a place or the activity not proceeding. Also, if you print this list out and stick it on the fridge please don't forget to check back here for any changes that may have occurred.

Walk Grading Guide.

Distance:Terrain:
A - 0 to 5km's.
B - > 5 to 10km's.
C - > 10 to 15km's.
D - > 15 to 20km's.
E - > 20km's.
1 - Graded track, some incline.
2 - Graded track, hills, creek crossings.
3 - Rough track, steep sections, creek crossings.
4 - Off-track, moderate.
5 - Off-track, hard.
6 - Rock scrambling, exposure to heights.

For further information on walk gradings please refer to our "Walk Grading" page, or if further clarification is required then discuss this with the Activity Leader when booking-in.

- Public Transport – don’t forget your Opal Card.
- Entry fees apply to walks in the some National Parks. Members with an NPWS Exemption Card should bring it along.

Forest and heath covered ridges. Creeks and ponds. 11km all on bush track to Hornsby. 270m ascent/descent. A popular section of the Great North Walk. Public transport.

Undulating walk in Nattai NP. Two lookouts and Point Hill via Camelot Ck. Steep (but doable) exit from Camelot Ck. Great views. All on footpads and fire trails.

Both sides of the Nepean River and onto the weir. On tracks and paths. Interesting vegetation. Mostly flat. 9km.

Undulating walk down and back up historic road, little used trail to lookout above river, then down to the Basin (200 steps) for relaxed break, lunch, and a swim. Walk may be shortened depending on the weather.

Members only special event. Twilight walk along Boxvale Track at Welby. Leave Campbelltown late afternoon, walk to lookout, relaxed dinner at lookout (BYO dinner), then return to cars by torchlight. No torch, no walk.

Most club activities start from The Catholic Club carpark, access the club carpark from the Camden Rd entrance and park in the first carpark area on the left. Link to meeting spot location map.
Please check with the Leader for the departure time from the designated meeting spot, please don't just "show up on the day" as our Activity Leaders need to know the number of likely participants before the activity.
