Activities Program

This page contains information about the Mountain Devils bushwalking and social activities program.

It is essential you book-in by mid-week. Leaders may place limits on the numbers attending and failure to book-in early can result in missing out on a place or the activity not proceeding. Also, if you print this list out and stick it on the fridge please don't forget to check back here for any changes that may have occurred.

Walk Grading Guide.

Distance:Terrain:
A - 0 to 5km's.
B - > 5 to 10km's.
C - > 10 to 15km's.
D - > 15 to 20km's.
E - > 20km's.
1 - Graded track, some incline.
2 - Graded track, hills, creek crossings.
3 - Rough track, steep sections, creek crossings.
4 - Off-track, moderate.
5 - Off-track, hard.
6 - Rock scrambling, exposure to heights.

For further information on walk gradings please refer to our "Walk Grading" page, or if further clarification is required then discuss this with the Activity Leader when booking-in.

9km circuit through dense heathland around a hanging swamp plateau encircled by precipitous cliffs. Panoramic views across Jamberoo Valley. Natural stone bridge across creek. A wide range of wildflowers should still be out.

Picturesque walk along a lovely and historic section of the harbour foreshore. Transport on trains, bus and ferry. Bring your Opal card.

Sat 24 Twilight/Night Bushwalk - Dharawal NP.
After the success of our night walk earlier this year we will head out to do another one. <10km walk along fire trails and tracks in Dharawal NP. Visit Minverva Pool (may be dark by then). Enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush at night. Must have working torch. No torch, no walk.

Sun 25 Sydney Living Museums - Part 2.
A group of 12 museums, houses and gardens fall into this category. You will be visiting Vaucluse House and Elizabeth Farm as part of the outing. For persons that wish to join the trip for the first time please refer to the cost of a pass below:

- $16 concession.
Please note that the Pass has a one (1) month expiry date. Public transport so don't forget your Opal card.

Relaxed summer walk through a pretty valley featuring a number of natural pools and wildflowers along Heathcote Creek. This walk is a point to point walk from Heathcote to Waterfall. At end of walk we will need to return to our start point on the train. Public transport so don't forget your Opal cards.

Sun 10 Gordon to Roseville.
The track connecting Gordon to Roseville Railway Station is a surprising scenic walk through remnant bushland. The walk escapes the urban centres to wind through the valleys and along the Lane Cove River with its abundance of water dragons, ducks and other birds.

Short morning walk to natural creek cave. Good track to both ends of cave. Bring torch for optional cave explore. One short metal ladder to access western cave entrance.

Idyllic summer walk through delightful shaded valley in the heart of the Blue Mountains. Spectacular forest and pretty cascades.

NOTE: Entry fees apply to walks in the some National Parks. Members with an NPWS Exemption Card should bring it along.

Most club activities start from The Catholic Club carpark, access the club carpark from the Camden Rd entrance and park in the first carpark area on the left. Link to meeting spot location map.
Please check with the Leader for the departure time from the designated meeting spot, please don't just "show up on the day" as our Activity Leaders need to know the number of likely participants before the activity.
