Activities Program

This page contains information about the Mountain Devils bushwalking and social activities program.

It is essential you make your booking by mid-week, then you must call the Leader the evening before to confirm your participation and be advised if any changes to the planned activity have occurred. Leaders may place limits on the numbers attending. Failure to get in early can result in missing out on a place or the activity not proceeding.

Walk Grading Guide.

Distance:	Terrain:
A - 0 to 5km's. B - > 5 to 10km's. C - > 10 to 15km's. D - > 15 to 20km's. E - > 20km's.	1 - Graded track, some incline. 2 - Graded track, hills, creek crossings. 3 - Rough track, steep sections, creek crossings. 4 - Off-track, moderate. 5 - Off-track, hard. 6 - Rock scrambling, exposure to heights.

For further information on walk gradings please refer to our guidelines page, or if further clarification is required then discuss this with the Walk Leader when booking-in.

Sun 8	Glenbrook to Red Hands Cave. 8km walk in the lower Blue Mountains. All on track to the interesting hand stencils at Red Hands Cave. Park entry fee applies.	Harry 4621 2448	Dist: B Ter: 2
Fri 13	Bondi to Coogee. This cliff top and oceanic walk explores the headlands and surfing beaches of eastern Sydney's most famous coastline. Along the route are small reserves with remnants of native bushland. The indented coast and massive cliffs invite a leisurely pace. Waverley Cemetery and the Bali Memorial are passed. Sat 14	The Spit to Manly. This beautiful walks explores secluded sandy coves and commanding headlands around Grotto Point and Dobroyd head. Parts of the walk passes through a section of Sydney Harbour National where there are panoramic lookouts. The route is signposted and along good tracks and paths.	Bob H 4625 2734	Dist: B Ter: 2
Sun 15	Dharawal SCA - Wedderburn. Exploratory walk to check out some tracks around the northern end of Dharawal SCA that I haven't had time to investigate yet. Small group, should be less than 10km, steep sections and should all be on-track.	Michael 0411 234 217	Dist: B Ter: 3
Sun 22	Gullies and Creeks of Thornleigh. 11km. 275 metres descents and ascents all on track. Forest of casuarinas, angophoras, grey and scribbly gums. Heath covered ridges. Creeks and ponds. A fairly energetic walk but highly recommended.	Kevin 4628 6974	Dist: C Ter: 2,3
Fri 27th and Sat 28th June	Dungowan at Erowal Bay on St Georges Basin for the last weekend in June. The beds are bunks, some rooms for doubles, some dorms. There is a fully equiped kitchen, only need to take food or the Husky Pub is not far away. COST $25.00 p.p per night.To get this rate we must pay for 2 nights (even if you can only stay 1) we can take advantage of a 4.00pm Sunday check out if we want. Sat 16	National Pass - Wentworth Falls Considered one of the most spectacular walks in the Blue Mountains. National Pass is cut into the cliff line between Empress and Wentworth Falls with stunning views across the Jamison Valley. LOTS AND LOTS of steps and some ladders. Sat 23	Foreshores of Sydney's Inner West. 10km. Flat and easy. Around Brays, Yaralla, Majors and Kendall Bays. Bushland reserves of mangroves and paperbarks. Open paddocks and new native plantings.	Kevin 4628 6974	Dist: B Ter: 1
Fri 29 to Sun 31	Car Camp - Bundanoon. Enjoy two nights at Gambells Rest. On Saturday we'll descend Tooths Lookout and head down to Bundanoon Creek. We'll retrace our steps to the cliff line and head toward Fairy Bower before returning to camp. Booking fees apply - $10.00 pp per night ($20.00), park fees - $7.00 per day per car. Most club activities start from The Catholic Club carpark, access the club carpark from the Camden Rd entrance (small roundabout not shown on linked map) and park in the first carpark area on the left. Link to meeting spot location map. Please check with the Leader for the departure time from the club, please don't just show up on the day as the Leaders need to know the number of likely participants before the event.
