Activities Program

This page contains information about the Mountain Devils bushwalking and social activities program.

It is essential you book-in by mid-week. Leaders may place limits on the numbers attending and failure to book-in early can result in missing out on a place or the activity not proceeding. Also, if you print this list out and stick it on the fridge please don't forget to check back here for any changes that may have occurred.

Walk Grading Guide.

Distance:Terrain:
A - 0 to 5km's.
B - > 5 to 10km's.
C - > 10 to 15km's.
D - > 15 to 20km's.
E - > 20km's.
1 - Graded track, some incline.
2 - Graded track, hills, creek crossings.
3 - Rough track, steep sections, creek crossings.
4 - Off-track, moderate.
5 - Off-track, hard.
6 - Rock scrambling, exposure to heights.

For further information on walk gradings please refer to our "Walk Grading" page, or if further clarification is required then discuss this with the Activity Leader when booking-in.

Good track around Gordon and Moores Creeks and Middle Harbour. Interesting forest, great water views sandstone outcrops and heritage works in sandstone. 8.5km approximately. Public transport. Don’t forget your Opal card.

Sun 20 Parramatta River Walk - Huntleys Point to Meadowbank Wharf.
10km on paths and tracks from Huntleys Point Wharf near Gladesville Bridge, along the northern side of the river, Gladesville Hospital grounds, Banjo Paterson Restaurant, Glades Bay, Aboriginal rock carvings and interpretive signage, Putney Park and Shepherds Bay to Meadowbank Wharf. PUBLIC TRANSPORT - Train and Rivercat.

Visiting Nerrigorang Picnic area through ancient forest, past various lakes and ruins. Approx. 8km of undulating tracks.

Sun 17 Wollstonecraft to McMahon's Point.
This walk includes Berry Island and Balls Head Reserve. Some tracks are steep, narrow, uneven, and rocky with tree roots. Also, creek crossings, lots of stairs, easy footpaths, and flat sandy tracks. Nice scenic photo opportunities of the bush and harbour. Public transport, Opal cards please.

Sun 24 Starlights Trail - Nattai NP.
It's been several years since we last did this challenging walk in Nattai NP. 500m elevation change over 3km. Morning tea on Point Hill then descend to Emmetts Flat on the Nattai River, then a long climb out. Approx 14km.

An easy and enjoyable 10km city walk crossing the Harbour Bridge to finish at the monthly Kirribilli Markets. Some stairs, stroll around or head home. Public transport, Opal card required.

Exploratory walk. We will attempt to follow old, abandoned fire trails in the upper Little River area of Bargo SCA. Rough/overgrown trails, possible off-track sections. Limited numbers, experienced members only. May also do some investigating of trails off Long Nose Ridge Road if we have time.

NOTE: Entry fees apply to walks in the some National Parks. Members with an NPWS Exemption Card should bring it along.

Most club activities start from The Catholic Club carpark, access the club carpark from the Camden Rd entrance and park in the first carpark area on the left. Link to meeting spot location map.
Please check with the Leader for the departure time from the designated meeting spot, please don't just "show up on the day" as our Activity Leaders need to know the number of likely participants before the activity.
